Royal Mail publish today (July 9), eight colourful and engaging illustrations, depicting and capturing the spirit of well-known, and some not so well-known, annual customs that take place around the UK.
Same Sky, the community arts charity behind Burning the Clocks, reveal £16,689.95 raised for the annual winter solstice parade. Volunteer – led bucket collection on the night of Burning the Clocks raised £5,846.95 and the event’s crowdfunder exceeded its target and raised £5,055 from 57 individuals.
The Streets of Brighton will feature folk tales of the world for the 2019 Brighton Festival Children’s Parade next May. Schools from across the region will be allocated a folk tale from a selection, chosen to reflect the diversity of artists taking part in the Festival.
Brighton charity Same Sky has launched a crowdfunder for Burning the Clocks 2018, offering exclusive gifts in order to raise £5,000 and help secure the future of Burning the Clocks. Taking place from 6.30pm on Friday, December 21, 2018, the Burning the Clocks parade runs from New Road to the seafront, with around 2,000 participants and more than 20,000 onlookers.
Plans for the sale of Belmont Street, home to a creative community including local charity Same Sky, the organisation behind the Children’s Parade and Burning the Clocks Festival, would see the groups offered relocation into New England House.
