Tim will be starting his work right away with a new project focusing on mental health and loneliness in the gay community. This project was decided upon by a joint group of finalists as a mission for the new Mr Gay Europe.
This year delegates from nine different countries made it to the Mr Gay Europe competition: Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway and Spain. The delegates have qualified for the event either through national finals or by applications and nominations.
Delegates from all over Europe will meet on historical grounds when they return to Alnwick Castle and Gardens for Mr Gay Europe from 20 – 27 August 2023. This is the 15th time the competitions will take place, and there will be a few changes to the rules.

Mr Gay Europe ask for your help to make the lives of the homeless who live on the city’s streets a little better this Christmas. Matt Rood, the current holder of the Mr Gay Europe crown, will be helping the homeless and their dogs on the streets of Brighton & Hove this Christmas, and asks people to offer their support by donating goods they no longer need for him to hand out via the Sussex Homeless Support Project.
Matt Rood, Gscene’s cover model for the August Pride issue was crowned Mr Gay Europe at Stockholm Pride today. Matt won the Social Media Challenge (SoMe) and My Project challenge, he came second in the preliminary interview, the photo challenge and the sports challenge.
