The Brighton and Hove Sea Serpents recently participated in the highly anticipated Touch My Brum tournament, hosted by the Birmingham Bulls. The tournament brought together some of the top touch rugby teams in the region, and the Sea Serpents faced tough competition throughout their journey.

The award is among the most respected prizes in UK rugby, and Andy’s win recognises his work and the wider work of all the Birmingham Bulls committee to promote LGBTQ+ inclusivity in the sport.
The UK’s biggest LGBTQ+ rugby tournament, the IGR Union Cup 2023, sponsored by Specsavers, Birmingham City University and Birmingham City Council, will arrive in Birmingham at the end of this month with over 47 LGBTQ+ rugby teams and 1,400 players from more than 18 countries competing for the coveted winners’ title over three days of blistering back-to-back rugby.
This commitment comes at a time when progress on trans rights in the UK are being attacked by the UK Government.
According to Brighton & Hove City Council, a successful bid would “see world class cup rugby teams welcomed to the Amex Stadium for a second time, enhancing Brighton & Hove’s reputation as a major sporting city.”
In April, the Union Cup is being held in Birmingham for all rugby clubs with a specific LGBTQ+ status and the Sea Serpents are planning to send a squad of 25 players to this tournament
After a long pre-season, Brighton & Hove Sea Serpents, the gay and inclusive rugby union club based in Brighton & Hove, has announced a friendly development game against good friends, Reading Renegades RFC, at Hove Rugby Club on Saturday, October 8 from 3pm.
