Sussex Police are appealing for witnesses after a man reported being raped by another man at Dukes Mound, Brighton. The 20-year-victim was approached by a man who started talking to him before pushing him to the ground and raping him sometime between 5am and 7am on Saturday, November 3.
Dukes Mound on Brighton seafront is to be closed for around three months for essential structural repairs to the high retaining wall which supports the A259 seafront road above.
At around 3.30am on Saturday (January 23), a man reported being struck numerous times over the head by an unknown object. Passer-by, Karl Walker heard the attack, intervened, and was hit in the face by the suspect, who then ran off towards Brighton Marina.
There will be an increase of police activity at Dukes Mound over the next few weeks. Police are increasing overt patrols after becoming aware of at least four young males frequenting the area and engaging in sexual activity for money.
