This week sees the opening of notorious Karenās Diner on the boardwalk of Brighton Marina.Ā
The 1950s-inspiredĀ American-style diner, named after a ‘Karen’ ā one of those entitled suburban types who always wants to speak to the manager – has already taken 3,000 bookings in advance prior to opening.
Abbyās design was unveiled at Brighton Marina over the May Bank Holiday and will graceĀ 26 benchesĀ until the start of next yearās competition.
Brighton Marina, in collaboration with the University of Brighton’s School of Art and Media, are offering students the opportunity to enter a competition to create one winning design which will end up on an array of benches throughout Brighton Marina this year.Ā

Bear-Patrol, the social networking group, raised Ā£399.32 for The Rainbow Fund on Sunday. The Money was raised at their Charity Car Boot Sale held at Brighton Marina on Sunday, March 24.
Earlier this year the Dragon Boat Race at Brighton Marina on April 24 was cancelled due to nesting swans in the Marina. The race was re-scheduled for September 9 at Bewl Water in Kent, where eighteen Marine Tavern customers attended to support the Marine Tavern rowers and a great day was had by all.
