1 in 4 travellers dissatisfied with Southern Railway

Simon Kirby, MP for Brighton Kemptown, attends Parliamentary debate today with other Southern MPs and Rail Minister Claire Perry to discuss the performance of Southern Railway. The debate was organised by Nick Herbert, MP for Arundel and South Downs, who said that according to Transport Focus, which conducts an authoritative survey of passenger satisfaction, more than one in four passengers travelling on Southern are dissatisfied with its performance.

Kemptown MP urges train companies to speed up compensation claims procedure

Simon Kirby, the MP for Brighton Kemptown and Peacehaven, has written to Southern Railway and Thameslink to urge them to speed up compensation claims under the ‘Delay Repay’ Scheme after being contacted about the issue by constituents. Train passengers are liable for compensation if they have been delayed by more than 30 minutes on their journey caused by rail disruption.
