NHS Digital defies Health Committee

NHS Digital has today defied the Health and Social Care Committee’s call to suspend its practice of providing patients’ addresses to the Home Office for immigration tracing purposes. NAT (National AIDS Trust) has been campaigning for an end to this practice since it came to light in 2014.

Health Committee calls for a stop to immigration tracing

NAT (National AIDS Trust) welcomes Health Committee’s call for NHS Digital to suspend immigration tracing and respect patient confidentiality. The Chair of the Health Committee, Dr Sarah Wollaston MP, has written today to the Chief Executive of NHS Digital calling for a suspension to the practice of providing addresses of migrants to the immigration authorities.
