After last year’s glorious Summer Of Love, Brighton Pride 2018 will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the iconic Rainbow Flag with the theme Colour My World. Originally commissioned by politician and activist Harvey Milk and devised by artist Gilbert Baker in San Francisco in 1978, the Rainbow Flag is a symbol of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT+) pride and LGBT+ social movements.

Rainbow Flag to find permanent home at Stonewall Monument

Rainbow Flag to be dedicated on Wednesday, October 11 at Stonewall National Monument on Manhattan’s Christopher Street. The Rainbow Flag, the international symbol of LGBT+ liberation and pride, will be unveiled in a special ceremony at noon, on Wednesday, October 11 at the historic Stonewall National Monument, in New York, where, thanks to the efforts of activists, it now claims a permanent home on Federal Land.
