Bar Broadway is the only bar in Brighton & Hove that is all about the musicals, or anything with links to musical theatre. Beyond that, they try to provide something a little different to the Brighton scene. When co-owners Alasdair Jarvie and Michael McGarrigle took over they gave the bar a makeover inside and out. They painted the bar ‘Broadway Red’ and installed three gilded TV screens around the bar to play musicals from start to finish.
The legendary Pet Shop Boys will headline the Brighton Pride, ‘Summer Of Love’ Festival in Preston Park on Saturday, August 5, 2017 with their first Pride performance in 20 years.
A walking tour around Brighton, the ‘gay capital’ of England, looks at this beautiful and historic city through the eyes its LGBTQ inhabitants over the last 200 years as part of Brighton Fringe festival in May.
Stonewall’s annual equality dinner, which took place at the Hilton on Park Lane, raised £470,000 for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) Equality last week.
The event took place at the Hilton on Park Lane and was supported by Aviva, with a champagne reception supported by E.ON.
Speakers on the night included Stonewall CEO Ruth Hunt; Vicar of Finedon, broadcaster and writer Reverend Richard Coles; and award-winning writer, actor and director Stella Duffy. All emphasised in their speeches that while there are certainly legislative achievements to celebrate, there is still a lot to do to achieve social equality for LGBT people.
