LGBT International Powerlifting Championships Announce theme for 2020 “Empowerment”.
The LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual, Transgender) International Powerlifting Championships (LGBT IPC) were held in Blackpool from July 19-21. Fifty athletes and a further hundred coaches, friends, family and spectators attended the event, making it the largest LGBT Powerlifting event of all time in regards to overall engagement.
The LGBT Powerlifting Union will host the LGBT+ International Powerlifting Championships in Summer 2019, with the modern Blackpool Sixth Form College providing the venue, for what promises to be a prestigious new sports event for the town.
Powerlifting returns to sports programme at the Hong Kong Gay Games in 2022. The LGBT Powerlifting Union has agreed to assist the organisers of Gay Games Hong Kong, 2022 in the delivery and promotion of their Powerlifting event in the next Gay Games cycle.

Gay Games Ambassador Chris Morgan has taken his 9th World Championship Gold Medal and once again has become a World Champion in the sport of Powerlifting. Chris was lifting in his first World Championship after recovering from major knee surgery back in April 2016 and took first place in the Masters Category, Unequipped Deadlift (90 kilo bodyweight class), at the competition held in Trutnov, Czech Republic.
LGBT Powerlifters from all over the world attended the inaugural LGBT International Powerlifting Championships (LGBT IPC) held in London on Saturday, July 29. Nine countries were represented including Australia, Belarussia, Canada, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, United States of America and Great Britain with a group of 40 including lifters, coaches and partners in attendance.
