Consultation on fire cuts, a sham, claims Labour candidate Platts

Sarah Green May 27, 2014

Speaking ahead of a public meeting on May 29, Nancy Platts, Labour’s parliamentary candidate for Kemptown and Peacehaven said East Sussex Fire Authority’s consultation over cuts to the fire service had been a sham.

She said: “The consultation carried out by East Sussex Fire Authority has been a sham.  I have spoken to hundreds of residents in Brighton Kemptown and Peacehaven and it is clear that the news about these cuts has not reached the community. East Sussex Fire Authority has a responsibility to the public to be open and transparent and it is now evident that they have failed in that duty.”

Nancy will be speaking at the public meeting on Thursday, May 29 at 7pm at the Brighthelm Centre, North Road BN1 1YD and hopes that local people will go along and share their views and concerns about the proposed cuts to the fire service by the East Sussex Fire Authority.
