Brighton & Hove LGBTQ+ Switchboard thanks Sussex Cricket Foundation for holding free session for LGBTQ+ community

Graham Robson May 3, 2024

Brighton & Hove LGBTQ+ Switchboard wishes to thank Sussex Cricket Foundation for hosting a free session where the LGBTQ+ community came together to watch a match at Sussex County Cricket Club.

One service user said: “I’m really liking the Cricket meet ups which you all told us about. Charlotte and the team at Sussex Cricket Club are so enthusiastic and welcoming.”

There are hopes that an LGBTQ+ Cricket Team may be set up soon, so watch this space… and email charlotte.burton@sussexcricket.co.uk if you’d like to join!

Sussex Cricket Foundation is holding its next LGBTQ+ Coffee and Cake at the Cricket event on Monday, 13 May from 11am-1.30pm at the Spen Cama Pavilion in Sussex County Cricket Club, BN3 3AN.

This is a free community hub for the LGBTQ+ community, offering the chance to sit and socialise in a safe and relaxed environment at the home of Sussex Cricket. This month they will meet in the Spen Cama Pavilion, then they will run some soft ball walking cricket for attendees who would like to take part. Emily (she/they), Switchboard’s BOLD project coordinator will be there too, so do say hello!

For more information including how to get to the venue and any accessibility queries, contact Charlotte Burton (she/her) via email: charlotte.burton@sussexcricket.co.uk.
