Queer Swedish popstar SYLVE releases emotionally charged new single ‘Shadow Of You’

Graham Robson September 1, 2023

The rising queer star of the Swedish pop scene, SYLVE, is back with the single Shadow Of You – a grand melancholic song that deals with the emptiness following the loss of a relationship, which is the first track from the upcoming EP of the same title set to be released later this year.

“It was so beautiful and comforting to write about my various experiences of loss together with two close friends (Emelie Eriksson and Jakob Redtzer). We both danced and cried in the studio while creating the song, and I really hope that comes through and resonates with the listeners,” SYLVE shared.

With his honest lyrics, soulful expression, and incredible stage presence, SYLVE has been compared to artists like Sam Smith and Craig David. In 2021, he released his debut EP, Dö Lycklig, and the Pride anthem Legacy in collaboration with Julia Alfrida. The debut EP was preceded by singles like Sommartid (Ett annat vi), which achieved independent success with nearly 1.4 million streams on Spotify and multiple appearances on the Viral Top 50 chart, as well as Låtsas som inget hänt, a celebrated collaboration with Suicide Zero.

In 2022, SYLVE transitioned to releasing music in English and presented the single How It Goes with Kristin Amparo. Additionally, he made appearances at both the Guldbaggegalan and Lotta på Liseberg, solidifying his position as a prominent artist in the Swedish music industry.
