Kemptown Carnival will return on June 1, 2019, in partnership with Brighton Palace Pier, with the help of Arts Council Funding. The funding will support the creation of five new live processional and street performances, working with a range of Brighton based artists and community groups to showcase new, collaborative creative works at the Kemptown Carnival, 2019.
Kemp Town Carnival, one of Brighton’s largest community street festivals returns on Saturday, June 4 after taking a years break to sort out their finances. Organisers have secured two early sponsorship deals with Hartleys Wines and local estate agents Sawyer and Co, with other local businesses close to following suit.
The directors of the Kemp Town Carnival Association have cancelled this years party, scheduled for June, and have announced they are going to have a “sabbatical” for a year to give them the opportunity to fully explore a more sustainable business model for the future.
