Despite strong winds and a terrible weather forecast, an estimated 30,000 people marched for trans rights at Trans Pride Brighton & Hove, which celebrated 10 years of trans joy, on Saturday, July 15.

While the main event at Brunswick Park was cancelled due to the weather, venues such as the Brighton Dome, Ledward Centre and the Actors stepped up as venues for those attending the event.

Trans Pride organisers said: “We at the Trans Pride Brighton Committee would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who showed up to the protest march and to the events around Brighton yesterday. We‚Äôre so grateful to everyone who showed up despite the many many setbacks we‚Äôve all had to deal with this weekend.

“The last 24 hours have been completely insane. We went from worrying that this organisation would not be able to continue past this year to taking over the city. We‚Äôre a small team of volunteers organising Trans Pride around our day jobs and in our own time.

“We really can‚Äôt tell you how much your support has meant to us this weekend. Together we have fought the earth, wind, rain and fire and trans joy has been triumphant over everything!”
