Honey Dijon to headline Brighton & Hove Pride dance tent on Saturday, August 5

Graham Robson March 29, 2023

Brighton & Hove Pride has announced that international dance star and trailblazer Honey Dijon will headline Saturday’s dance tent, bringing her inimitable live experience to Preston Park.

The full line-up for Pride Saturday’s dance tent also includes performances from Gok Wan, DJ Paulette, Hi-Fi-Sean, Monki and many others. Alongside that, the hotly tipped Confidence Man has been added to the main stage line-up on Saturday, August 5.

Raising the roof of the dance tent, Chicago raised, New York infused, and Berlin-based Honey Dijon has a folio reaching beyond her extensive global nightclub bookings. She’s soundtracked some of the most iconic fashion shows of the 21st century, gatecrashed into artistry, sociology, fashion and the rights of the individual. She is queer to the bone.

As a recording artist, she helmed an audacious debut record, 2017’s The Best of Both Worlds. Recent remix credits include rewiring classics for David Bowie and Neneh Cherry, while sprucing up the latest works for Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Madonna. Last year’s long player Black Girl Magic is a joyful force that features the likes of Eve and Pabllo Vittar. Music. Fashion. Art. It’s in everything that Honey touches. “I come from a background where art is interdisciplinary,” she says.

Confidence Man

Pride’s dance tent on Saturday, August 5 features another standout line-up that includes the brilliant Gok Wan, house music icon DJ Paulette, disco DJ Affy Go-Bang, Toby Lawrence, Oxylion & Danger, Monki and Hi-fi Sean. Also performing will be Confidence Man – unarguably one of the hottest acts on the planet right now. Within only three years of their conception, the Australian four-piece (led by Janet Planet and Sugar Bones) have already played at some of the biggest festivals in the world including Primavera Sound, Governors Ball and Glastonbury. Parading within a brand of dance pop that sounds like Donna Summer and Giorgio Moroder gleefully discovering house music via Dee-lite, there’s no question that Confidence Man will make you turn it up and turn.it.out!

Brighton & Hove Pride is the UK’s biggest Pride Festival operated by Brighton Pride CIC, a not-for-profit community interest company. All tickets revenue raised goes directly to the operational and running costs of producing the Pride Festival, LGBTQ+ Pride Community Parade, Pride Village Party and community fundraising for the Brighton Rainbow Fund and Pride Social Impact Fund.
