New Patron for Sussex charity

Mike Weatherley, the Conservative MP for Hove and Portslade, has accepted an invitation from Autism Sussex to become a Patron of the organisation.

The general philosophy of Autism Sussex is to provide a safe base for people with autistic spectrum conditions, where their special needs are recognised and from which they may take full advantage of community opportunities.

Autism Sussex aims to enable its service-users to play as full a part in their community as appropriate to each individual. Emphasis is placed on an enabling role to foster independence and self-determination.

Mike said:

“I was honoured to become a patron of Autism Sussex, a stellar charity which does fantastic work locally. I know that Autism Sussex provides a number of extremely valuable services and will, as a Member of Parliament, provide all the support that I can for the people who rely on the support that this charity. I look forward to working with Autism Sussex in the near future.”
