POP MUSIC: #DaleyPop makes a lot of ‘Pink Noise’ over ‘Big Dreams and Faded Jeans’

January 29, 2022

Music has been embedded in my life ever since I was in the womb, my Mum and Dad basically raised me on music, especially POP music! I grew up listening to Madonna, Mariah Carey, Kylie Minogue, Spice Girls, Britney Spears… even AQUA! I’m excited to share my favourite and most listened to songs from Spotify every month and my favourite album of the month with you all from Scene HQ! Dolly Parton – Big Dreams and Faded Jeans (Butterfly)

Country music ICON Dolly Parton has blessed 2022 with a new single (yay!) from her upcoming forty-eighth, yes FORTY-EIGHTH album Run, Rose, Run which will be a collection of songs released to coincide with her fictional novel of the same name, co-authored with the one and only best-selling author James Patterson. Dolly said: “So many people come to Nashville with their sack of songs, whether they’re running from anything or not, they’re running towards a future.

“That’s what Big Dreams and Faded Jeans is all about. I am so pleased to finally share the first song from this exciting new album with all of you!”

The album comes out March 4, woop!

Call Me Loop – Year of the Ex

If you’ve not heard of Call Me Loop – check her out after reading my little review, she’s got so many bops – her new single Year Of The Ex is a BOP BOP BOP and is all about running back to an ex, even when it’s the wrong thing to do, eeeeep. (Give ‘n’ Take is a really song from her back catalogue btw).

Loop describes her music as “sassy, emotive, electronic pop”, and I reckon 2022 will be a THRILLING year for the singer-songwriter and hopefully she’ll be a household name soon, fingers and toes xd!

Ricky Martin – Otra Noche en L.A.

Otra Noche en LA is another song about an ex, but this one isn’t about running back to an ex, it’s about reminiscing of the adventures they had in Los Angeles.

Mr Martin described the song as: “awakening emotions and was born out of those memories that keep us alive, motivate, or accelerate us. I’ve always looked for sensations and this song is magic, I hope you identify with it and enjoy it.”

Alesso (with Katy Perry) – When I’m Gone

W.I.G. is here and I’m living for KP’s new era! At the start of the music video, Katy Perry says “I just think it’s time to give them everything they want,” for which we’re more than grateful at Scene HQ! The video has everything from choreography, sickening outfits including a purple Madonna-inspired Dolce & Gabbana bodysuit and Katy’s iconic black hair is back too!

Katy and Alesso spoke to Apple Music’s Zane Lowe about the new song and Katy said that Alesso came to her with the track nearly a year and a half ago. She told Lowe she wasn’t sure if she was ready to collab given the preparation for her Las Vegas residency shows, but, as she says: “[The show] is so big and so wild that we wanted to inject some new blood into it.

I was like, I have the perfect timing to put out a dance song that is through and through just so much fun and up, up, up. Then also with the music video that’s coming, I’m just going for it.”

Laura Mvula – Pink Noise UK Tour

British singer-songwriter Laura Mvula will be going on her rescheduled Pink Noise Tour in September… I bought my boyfriend tickets for Christmas (and he’s taking me YAY) and we can’t wait to hear and see Pink Noise live!

Laura said: “This is the album I always wanted to make,” and “Every corner is made warm with sunset tones of the ’80s. I was born in 1986. I came out of the womb wearing shoulder pads. I absorbed the dynamism of the ’80s aesthetic right from my first moments on this planet.”

The tour kicks off in Birmingham in September 1 at the O2 Institute, followed by Manchester O2 Ritz on the September 2, Leeds Stylus on September 4, Bristol O2 Academy on September 7, Bexhill De La Warr Pavilion on September 8, and the tour finale will be in London at O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on September 9.

EP of the Month: Christina Aguilera – La Fuerza

La Fuerza translates as ‘The Strength’ and is the ‘first chapter’ of three Spanish EPs that global superstar Christina Aguilera will be releasing throughout 2022. “I’ve never stopped being an Aguilera no matter what happens or what’s hot or trending,” Xtina said about her new EP.

If you’ve been sleeping under a rock, Xtina has been confirmed to headline We Are Fabuloso on Saturday, August 6 this year, Brighton & Hove Pride‘s official fundraiser for the Brighton Rainbow Fund!

If you’re busy that weekend, Christina’s going on an arena tour: Open Air Theatre in Scarborough on August 2, M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool on August 3 and London‘s O2 Arena on August 5.
