Winter support for people with HIV

Graham Robson February 9, 2021

Peer-led HIV charity Lunch Positive is providing extra support for people this winter, helping keep warm and comfortable at home.

As part of the charity’s outreach programme, people with HIV struggling to keep warm at home can be provided with free loans of heating equipment and warm bedding, which will be home delivered by the outreach volunteer driver team that has developed over the Covid crisis.Anyone living with HIV in Brighton & Hove who is struggling at home, whether it be because of lack of heating, accommodation conditions, low or constrained income should visit the Lunch Positive website, email info@lunchpositive.org or call 07846 464384.In addition to this, Lunch Positive continues to work closely with THT South Welfare Benefits to reach people with HIV in crisis who have insufficient heating. They can give specialist benefits advice and also refer people to Lunch Positive.

Lunch Positive also continues with its food outreach programme for all people with HIV, including weekly delivered cooked meals and groceries, drop-in community food bank from Dorset Gardens Methodist Church, Friday hot food takeaway, and newly launched HIV befriending and buddying scheme.
