Rainbow Fund seek Independent Grant Panel members

Graham Robson March 14, 2014

The Rainbow Fund is seeking to appoint two members of its Independent Grants Panel.

Rainbow FundThe voluntary roles are intended to provide independent scrutiny at the Rainbow Fund’s annual grants meeting, when it considers applications for funding from local LGBT groups.

The unpaid role will provide an impartial view in terms of funding decisions, and will require input at a maximum of two or three meetings a year.

The roles are part of the checks and balances put in place by the Rainbow Fund to ensure full openness and transparency. This includes the appointment of an Independent Treasurer and the development of charitable status.

The grants panel has been set up to ensure that the four Independent Members form a majority in terms of the voting membership of the group.

Applicants should have a firm knowledge of the local LGBT community sector, have limited conflicts of interest with potential applicant groups and experience of grant-making would be an advantage.

The Rainbow Fund are keen to encourage applications from women and members of the trans community.

To express an interest please email: info@rainbow-fund.org in the first instance, by April 5, 2014.
