Pride scoop new tourism award

Brighton Pride scooped the ‘Sussex Tourism Ambassador Award’ at the inaugural Sussex Life Magazine Awards.

THE READER-NOMINATED awards were presented during a glittering ceremony at the Hilton Brighton Metropole Hotel on Thursday, October 9 and covered all areas of food, drink and hospitality.

Other events in the Tourism category included The Brighton Marathon and the South of England Agricultural Show.

Brighton Pride, a Community Interest Company (CIC) has raised over £110,000 from the last two years events for local good causes, which has been distributed by the Rainbow Fund through their independent grants programme.

Brighton Pride is universally recognised as the UKs biggest Pride Festival attracting a diverse demographic of visitors from across the globe and according to Brighton & Hove City Council bringing in more than £13million to the local economy in Brighton and Hove.

Paul Kemp, Director of Brighton Pride, said: “We are truly grateful to see that our hard work and efforts all year round have been recognised. Next year is Brighton Pride’s 25th anniversary and we are already working on the planning to make it an even more fabulous celebration of diversity and creativity.”
