Caroline Lucas MP and Mike Weatherley MP who are Patrons of the Sussex ME Society, have backed an Early Day Motion (EDM) that promotes the need for world-class research into ME/CFS.

EDM 212 (UK Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Research Collaborative) highlights some of the limitations with past research on ME/CFS and calls for interested parties to support new research into this debilitating medical condition.

Mike Weatherly, said:

“I am proud to be a patron of the Sussex ME Society and was very happy to support this laudable Parliamentary Motion. New research will be incredibly valuable in addressing the illness that causes so much trouble for those who suffer with it.”

ME affects around 6,000 people across Sussex including a good number in the LGBT community.
