The Council is currently consulting on plans to expand the school for an additional class per year from 60 children joining each Reception class to 90. This will increase the school size from 436 pupils to 654. The consultation opened on the September 1 and will run until the September 29.

The expansion of the school is meant to be implemented in September 2015.

Simon said: “I would encourage all residents to take part in the consultation so that their voices are heard. It is important to make their opinion known to the City Council who will be deciding on this matter.

“Many parents contact me regarding school places at both primary and secondary level so I am aware that this is a really important issue for families. I am also aware of issues surrounding traffic and parking in the area immediately around the school, particularly at school opening and closing times.”
