Pub Pride to return in May to celebrate local LGBTQ+ communities

Graham Robson March 9, 2024

Ask For Clive, a charity that works with pubs and venues to create welcome spaces and tackle discrimination, held the first Pub Pride nationally in July 2021, working with Pride organisations, pub companies, business improvement districts and local councils to bring the event to life.

Returning for its fourth year, Pub Pride 2024 will take place in venues across the UK on Friday, May 31 to Sunday, June 2. It’s a night for venues to celebrate local LGBTQ+ communities, and welcome Pride Month in their home town. What you do over the weekend is up to you – live music, cabaret, karaoke, drag brunch, film screening, or just dressing up your pub or venue to show your support.

Each year will now see a theme colour, coming from the progress Pride flag. For 2024 this will be yellow, which on the original Pride Flag symbolises sunshine and new ideas – Pub Pride is hoping for lots of each!

Pub Pride said: “Venues are encouraged to hold their own fundraising events, one of our key policies being that funds should only come from people having a great time or experience, or from enjoying some of our partner products. We’ll also have our annual cocktail competition! Venues have sold special beers, cocktails, pizzas and cakes to raise funds for Ask For Clive. We can’t wait to see what you do!”
