Council seek views on residents’ parking

Gary Hart June 29, 2015

Residents and businesses invited to give views on residents’ parking  in the Fiveways and Surrenden area of Brighton.

Brighton & Hove CouncilConsultation starts on Monday, July 6 with residents and businesses to gauge the level of support.

The proposed area also includes Hollingbury Park Avenue and Hollingbury Terrace. Residents will be given the option of a five or seven-day scheme with enforcement from 9am to 8pm.

Other options for different times/hours could be considered which would need further committee approval.

All homes, businesses and services in the area will receive details and questionnaires about the proposed scheme, and the survey will be available online from July 6.

There will be a staffed exhibition at St Mary’s Catholic Church, 5 Surrenden Road on July 22 between 1pm and 8pm, plus an unstaffed exhibition at Hove Town Hall, in the Customer Service Centre, between 9am and 5pm during the consultation period.

Proposals for the scheme were drawn up following a citywide parking survey carried out last year. Councillors gave the go ahead for consultation at the March Environment, Transport & Sustainability Committee meeting.

Closing date for comments is 14 August.
