LGBTQIA+ Pathways to Family: networking event for those in the LGBTQ+ community looking for info and advice on surrogacy, fostering and adoption

Graham Robson September 13, 2023

Keen to welcome a child into your home? LGBTQIA+ Pathways to Family is a networking event and an opportunity to learn more about surrogacy, fostering and adoption, which takes place at The Hawth in Crawley on Tuesday, October 17 from 6pm – 7.30pm.

According to organisers of the event, Crawley LGBT, the path to having a family isn’t straightforward for LGBTQ+ people. Whether you want a child who is biologically yours, or are keen to provide a loving home for a child who needs one, experts at the event will help you explore your options and bust a few myths…

The Surrodoula is an experienced surrogate, having helped to complete two families. She has worked for a well know UK-based agency, supporting surrogates and intended parents and is passionate about supporting people to have the most positive pregnancy and birth possible, whatever that looks like for you.

West Sussex County Council and Brighton & Hove City Council need more foster carers to provide safe, loving homes for children who are unable to live with their birth family. This could be on a short or long-term basis and carers receive training, support and competitive pay to help every child achieve their potential.

Adoption South East is a partnership of councils from East Sussex, West Sussex, Brighton & Hove, and Surrey working to make the adoption process quicker and simpler. They have a wealth of expertise in bringing together children with safe, secure, loving and permanent adoptive families.

Crawley LGBT CIC aims to raise awareness of the issues facing the LGBTQ+ community, promote the town as an LGBTQ+ safe place, and create a sense of pride in Crawley. This is done by running LGBTQ+ events, through community engagement, and by supporting the development of services for the LGBTQ+ community in Crawley.
