Allsorts Youth Project wins Investing in Children Member of the Year award

Graham Robson December 20, 2023

Allsorts Youth Project, the Brighton-based LGBTQ+ youth charity, has announced it hasĀ received the Investing in Children Member of the Year award for “the extensive ways Allsorts goes above and beyond to involve children and young peopleā€™s voice both on a personal and organisational level”.

Investing in Children said: “Each year Investing in Children, a human rights organisation, hosts an online celebration event for organisations that have achieved Bronze, Silver and Gold status with the Investing in Children membership Award Scheme. The award is nationally recognised and celebrates the ways organisations involve children and young people in effective dialogue that results in a change. Evidence of this must come from children and young people themselves.

“This year, Investing in Children introduced a ā€˜Member of the Year Awardā€™ which was presented to Allsorts Youth Project, which was chosen for this award due to the extensive ways they go above and beyond to involve children and young peopleā€™s voices, both on a personal and organisational level.

“Significant changes have taken place over the year ranging from improving inclusivity on the website, the creation of a pledge, youth representative roles, recruitment and selection processes, engagement sessions and improving the ways the service engage and feedback information etcā€¦

“We want to say another huge congratulations to Allsorts Youth Project for this fantastic achievement.”

Allsorts added: “Thank you to Investing in Children, and to the AWESOME children and young people at Allsorts who have fed into this project, and every other aspect of our service! Your ideas, feedback and contributions are invaluable and deeply appreciated.”
