Bristol Pride announced for Saturday, July 11, 2020

Organisers of Bristol Pride have confirmed that the annual festival will return to The Downs this year on Saturday, July 11 with events across the city from Friday, June 26.

Record numbers attended in 2019 with 40,000 people visiting the festival, which saw performances from over 100 artists including Boney M, Ru Paul’s Drag Race star Peppermint, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, and Mel C.

Events to look out for this year include the return of the popular Dog Show, Comedy Night, Theatre, Film as well as new events including Bristol’s first ever LGBTQ+ Comic Fair. Details of this year’s performers will be announced over the coming months.

, CEO of Bristol Pride, said: “We are so excited to be able to hold the festival on The Downs again this year, last year was absolutely incredible, our biggest and best event to date and the feedback has been amazing.

“We were able to do so much more now we have more space and, after having The Downs confirmed, we’re really excited to start programming all elements of the festival and are already working on an incredible line up of names to perform at this year’s event.”

While Bristol Pride 2020 will remain donation entry, the festival offers various supporter wristbands starting from £7.

Bristol Pride is a volunteer-led not for profit charity but has quickly become one of the UK’s biggest Pride festivals winning a number of awards including being named in the Top30 Global Pride events last year.
