The Pride LGBTQ+ Community Parade is one of the undisputed highlights of the Brighton & Hove Pride weekend and is a glorious showcase of the city’s charities, community groups, small businesses, emergency services, the NHS and statutory partners.

It is one of the biggest and brightest events in Brighton & Hove’s calendar, with over 300,000 people thronging the city’s streets to participate in and watch the parade of community and campaign groups, and the all-singing, all-dancing carnival of colour as it wends its way from Hove Lawns to Preston Park for We Are Fabuloso, the official Brighton & Hove Pride charity fundraiser for the Brighton Rainbow Fund.

The 30th anniversary is the perfect time to reaffirm Pride’s campaign commitments. Following consultation with community groups and activists, and to make the Pride LGBTQ+ Community Parade more diverse and inclusive for all, Pride has made a number of changes for 2022.With community at its heart, the theme of LOVE · PROTEST · UNITY will bring the city together to remember, to celebrate and to campaign.

Brighton & Hove Pride say: “2022 is our (delayed) 30th anniversary, culminating in a weekend of campaigning, celebrating and fundraising for LGBTQ+ and community projects in Brighton & Hove.

“Pride is a celebration of how far we have come but it is also an ongoing campaign for those marginalised communities at home and abroad who still suffer persecution on a daily basis. Our fundraising events will ensure that we continue to raise vital funds for our local LGBTQ+ and community projects.

“Brighton & Hove Pride is a Pride to be proud of. Alongside the smiles, sunshine and good times, our sole ethos is to promote tolerance and diversity within the communities and to organise inclusive events.

WE ARE FABULOSO is the UK’s biggest LGBTQ+ Pride event with community fundraising at its heart.”
