Brighton Bear Weekend raise over £400 for Rainbow Fund

Brighton Bear Weekend (BBW) break record for money raised at one of their Camelford Arms quiz nights.

At the Easter Quiz on Maunday Thursday they raised a total of £417.25 for the Rainbow Fund, who make grants to LGBT/HIV organisations delivering effective front line services to LGBT people in Brighton & Hove.

The quiz night, a regular Thursday event at the Camelford Arms was hosted by BBW with questions set by BBW Chair, Graham Munday. Subject matter included chocolate, the bible, bunnies, eggs and much more. The evening was hosted and expertly held together by Camelford manager Mark Flood.

The winning team of three, “Cunty McCuntFace” was led by Neil Barstow, who also won the last BBW Christmas Quiz in December. They missed out on the £300 cash prize but still walked away £25 richer and with a box of Crunchy Bars, they shared with everyone in the Camelford.

♦ Fraser Hall – Mini Eggs Easter egg

♦ Andrew Oldfield and James Allen  – Mini Eggs and Creme Egg Easter eggs

BBW organisers would like to thank Mark Flood and the team at The Camelford Arms especially the bar staff and kitchen staff for keeping everyone fed and watered. Choccywoccydoodah for donating the cake to be the Star Prize for the raffle. The Camelford sponsored Sea Serpents Rugby Club for creating such a great atmosphere but most of all special thanks to everyone who went along and bought raffle tickets, played the quiz and donated money in the buckets to the Rainbow Fund.

Graham Munday the Chair of BBW, said: “We knew it was going to be a big night when we heard that all the tables had been booked out the night before. People were filling out quiz sheets on the back of other people. We are bowled over by the response and so pleased so many could make it on a busy weekend. We look forward to seeing everybody back again on June 16 for our next quiz and the opening event of Brighton Bear Weekend.”
