Help support research into LGBTQ+ experiences of care

Graham Robson August 29, 2022

Leaving Care with Pride is new research, which aims to address the “dearth in knowledge exploring the experiences of LGBTQ+ people leaving care in the UK”. This project has been co-produced by Teesside University, LGBTQ+ Youth in Care and LGBTQ+ adults with experience of leaving care.

The project’s focal output will be ‘gold standard’ practice guidance to be made freely available to social work and relevant partner organisations, to improve the local offer for LGBTQ+ care leavers.

The project has two phases which will take place at the same time:

1. An interview of five people who are LGBTQ+ care experienced people. If you meet the requirements on the flyer and would like more information, email your expressions of interest to claire.brown@tees.ac.uk

Take part in the survey

2. Take part in a survey, which will gather insight from people who work with care leavers. Do you work with care leavers? Take five minutes to fill out this survey which will contribute to the development of a brand new FREE resource.
