A queer retelling of Shakespeare’s A Midsummers Night’s Dream set in the 1970s is set to hit Sussex Student Union‘s Debating Chamber on May 3 – 5.

Inspired by movies such as Labyrinth and music odf Jimi Hendrix and Fleetwood Mac, this production from Decolonise Shakespeare celebrates queer love and joy, challenges gender norms and presents an opportunity to laugh your socks off.

Get on your best ’70s attire and head to this night of Shakespearean spectacle unlike any other, where Shakespeare meets the dazzling, dizzying countercultural rebellion.

Decolonise Shakespeare is an inclusive and actively anti-racist space for QTIPOC and allies at Sussex University who are interested in Shakespearean drama. The company performed the critically acclaimed Macbeth last year which was labeled as a ‘triumph’.
