Brian Butler February 22, 2021

You wait for a show from the wonderful Drag King Adam All and then along come two in one week. On Thursday 25 February Adam and partner Apple Derrières will be hosting the 7th birthday of BOi BOX . From its humble beginnings in a Soho basement , it’s now established as the prime showcase for Drag Kings .

Adam told me that this is their 104th show and they’ve showcased  an incredible 129 Drag Kings over the 7 years. Presented online in collaboration with The Glory , this week’s show will feature: Dan One , the co-host of Man Up ! ; Rubyyy Jones , Burlesque Hall Of Fame winner; Richard Energy – innovative, political and funny winner of Disney Snatchgame  2020; Sigi Moonlight – part of the Pan Asian Cabaret Collective.

Your ticket, once bought , will get you a private YouTube link valid to watch the show for up to 2 weeks. Tickets at BOiBox.com

The following night , 26 February , Adam and Apple will be at the historic Queen’s House , Greenwich ,  for the annual Fierce Queens: House of Love , to celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month.

Architect Inigo Jones was commissioned to design the house in 1616 for King James I’s wife Anne of Denmark, but she died when only the first floor was completed, so in 1629 James’ son Charles I gave it to his wife Henrietta Maria and the house was finished in 1636 and today it’s run by the National  Maritime Museum and normally open to the public.

Adam and Apple will guide us through a virtual House Of Love, presenting an evening of Queer love stories through the ages. There will be gender diverse performances , virtual tours of the House , love letters and even life drawing classes.

Lined up for the evening are : Le Gateau Chocolat , Drag Syndrome, Romeo de la Cruz, Jada Love, Rubyyy Jones, Drag Improv and Dan Vo. Pre-event activities include a cocktail class, a playlist and crown-making. It’s a night of Queer histories, cultures and connections.
