New Year’s Day: Hot Chip (Little Gay Brother and Bitch, Please!)

AREA 404 – is offering double the pleasure as the city welcomes in 2020 with not one but two events; kicking things off with the New Year’s Eve spectacular, followed by New Year’s Day all dayer for those who don’t want the party to end! The multi-space venue is run by the team behind Boomtown Festival, the UK’s leading immersive festival.

Entertaining ticket holders on New Year’s Eve will be legendary reggae DJ Rodigan, a multiple award-winning artist who has graced radio stations across the UK and beyond. Also helping AREA 404 guests celebrate the start of 2020 will be French trip-hop act Chinese Man, known for their electrifying live sets which blend hip hop, funk, dub, jazz and reggae.

Complementing the headliners will be AREA 404’s multiple rooms with techno, DnB, reggae and disco on offer with a fresh sound around each corner.

Area 404’s New Year’s Eve event will finish at 4am and for normal venues that would be the end of the partying – but this is no ordinary venue and while many head to bed to sleep the day away, a completely new event will be firing up. From 2pm on January 1st the music will start up again, but this time with a very different flavour.

With synth stars and live legends Hot Chip headlining, the promoters of iconic London LGBTQ+ night and festival collective Little Gay Brother are joining forces with Bristol’s own LGBTQ+ event Bitch, Please! for what might be the most glamorous ever New Year’s Day event in the city. Dancefloor fillers Viva La Disco will also be there to ensure the day (and night) comes with an infectious soundtrack.

House, disco, techno and cabaret will be the themes of the New Year’s Day event, which will finish at 12midnight. More info or to book tickets see 404’s website here:
