LGBTQ+ short film Stroke of Fate, starring Sheila McCarthy and Nathaniel Bacon, now available on Amazon Prime Video in the UK

Stroke of Fate, a Canadian short film starring Sheila McCarthy (Women Talking) and Nathaniel Bacon (Wickensburg) is now available on Amazon Prime Video in the UK.

Stroke of Fate details a moment of time in a hospital waiting room. A mother and her gay son wait for news of their loved one’s prognosis. Old family wounds come to the surface under the pressure of the situation. The script for the short film was written by gender queer playwright/screenwriter Darren Stewart-Jones, who was born in England but raised in Canada.

“Sheila McCarthy is a Canadian acting icon,” says Nathaniel Bacon, who plays Jake in the short film. “She was a joy to work with on this dramatic LGBTQ-themed project.”

McCarthy has been seen in several Hollywood blockbusters over the years, including Die Hard 2 and The Day After Tomorrow. Most recently, she can be seen in the Academy Award winning film, Women Talking.

Stroke of Fate is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video in the UK.
