Webinar on Covid-19 vaccination roll-out in Care Homes

Are you a relative or carer with a loved one in a care home?  If so, join Healthwatch East Sussex and Healthwatch Brighton & Hove on Monday, January 25 from 3pm for an online webinar on the Covid-19 vaccination roll out programme so far, and an opportunity for you to share any burning issues you have and what support the health and care system can provide you as the pandemic continues.

The panel, will have the most current information available to share with you and will seek to respond to any questions you may have, includes: Dr Padma Dalby, Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Sussex Partnership NHS Trust; Dr Mathew Thomas, East Sussex CCG Care Home GP Support; Katie Chipping, Senior Manager, Partnerships, B&H CCG (Care Home Response Lead); Jo Egan, Director of Services, Care for the Carers; Dame Phillipa Russell, Carer and Vice Chair Carers UK; Isobel Warren, East Sussex County Council Care Homes Place Based lead; Mike Derrick, Chair Brighton & Hove and East Sussex Residential Care Home Association (invited).

Questions already asked include:
·         When can families expect care home visiting to open-up after the vaccines? What needs to happen to enable this?
·         Will care home family carers come under Category 6 to receive their vaccine – given they aren’t providing the regular care?
·         What happens when the second dose is due – how will that be delivered?
·         What about mental capacity and all this will entail?
