Council bites back at irresponsible dog owner

A Brighton dog owner is ordered to keep her Rottweilers under control after one attacked and bit two other dogs. Donna Riddell of Sovereign Court, Brighton Marina, has been told to ensure that one of the dogs, Peaches, is muzzled and kept on a lead when outside the home for the rest of its life. She must also pay the council £700 in costs.

UBER license renewal in Brighton and Hove turned down

Following a hearing on Monday, April 23, Brighton & Hove City Council’s licensing panel has decided against renewing UBER Britannia Ltd’s (UBL) Private Hire Operator Licence in the city. The unanimous decision was taken because members of the licensing panel were not satisfied that UBL are a “fit and proper person” to hold an operator’s licence under the terms of Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 and the council’s licensing objectives.

Tory Leader says Brighton & Hove City Council borders on “being dysfunctional”

In response to concerns raised by local businesses, the Conservatives had previously tabled a request asking that the zones where street traders could operate be reviewed.
