Volunteers needed to carry placards on Brighton Pride parade

Besi Besemar April 11, 2014

Brighton Pride’s campaign theme for 2014 Freedom To Live will highlight the 78 countries where it is illegal to be homosexual or engage in homosexual conduct.

Freedom to Live

This year, the Brighton Pride LGBT Community Parade will include 78 placards representing those countries including Russia, India, Nigeria, Uganda and most recently Egypt where homosexuality is illegal.

This is your opportunity to be political, stand beside your LGBT brothers and sisters throughout the world and highlight the inequalities they face.

In England and Wales we have just celebrated equal marriage, across the globe, from Europe to Asia, from Africa and much of the Commonwealth there is still so much more to do.

A spokesperson for Pride, said: “Everyone regardless of sexuality or gender deserves the Freedom to live.”
