UPDATE: Friends of David Elliott found

Graham Robson January 8, 2021

Friends of David Elliott have been found meaning his ashes will be returning to Brighton to be with his queer family.

Earlier this week we reported on a story after being contact by Harry Wright who had come into possession of some ashes of David Elliott who lived in Brighton (possibly in Montpelier Street). He moved from Brighton in 2006 to live in Goa, and died there in 2008.

Harry’s sister had nursed him in his final moments and dealt with his cremation. She arranged a ceremony for him in Goa, and when she next returned to the UK she bought his ashes back to the UK for one of his family members, but by the time she made the journey all of his family had decided that they had ‘moved on’.

Harry said: My friend is in PR in Manchester. He found someone so quickly and he will be taken to Brighton and released by his queer family.

“I’m so happy how it’s turned out and thank you for running the story. Perhaps when his friends produce some nice pictures and stories he can have a little in memorial.”
