Two Brighton businesses raise funds for the Sussex Beacon

Graham Robson August 15, 2022

Two Brighton businesses – Brighton Recreational Club (aka the Railway Club) and the Brighton Box – recently raised funds for local HIV charity, the Sussex Beacon.

One particular long-term supporter is Brighton Recreational Club. Mike and his team hold a special pre-Pride event every year in aid of the charity, this year raising more than £250.

The Sussex Beacon said: “We’re very fortunate to receive support throughout the year from a number of local businesses. Their efforts and ongoing fundraising activities are genuinely, enormously important to us.”

The Sussex Beacon is a preferred charity partner of the Brighton Box in Dukes Lane. If you’ve never been, it really is worth stopping by to marvel at the incredible works by predominantly local artists.

At a recent Meet The Artist evening (featuring Ho Sang and Lorenza Gamberi) a raffle was held in aid of the charity, raising more than £100. A number of the Brighton Box‘s featured artists also donate part proceeds of artwork sales to the Sussex Beacon.

The Sussex Beacon said: “This is enormously appreciated, helping to raise thousands to date for the Sussex Beacon. These funds enable us to continue our vital work caring for and supporting people living with HIV.

“There’s some very exciting news to come about a piece of artwork by Christopher Crawford as well, but more of that soon!”
