Have Your Say on the city council’s sports facilities in the city

Graham Robson November 24, 2020

Brighton & Hove City Council (BHCC) is asking locals to contribute to a plan to improve and develop BHCC sports facilities across the city.

The Sports Facilities Investment Plan aims to provide good quality, accessible, sustainable facilities and services, which it’s hoped will encourage increased participation in sport and physical activity and improve the health and wellbeing of residents across the city.

Cllr Marianna Ebel, chair of the Tourism, Equalities, Community and Culture Committee, said: “Sports facilities have always been an important part of life in our city, and the current covid-19 crisis has placed even more emphasis on the need to stay healthy.

“We want to ensure that residents can access the sports facilities they need to stay fit, healthy and to enjoy social interaction with others.”

She added that the council will also be consulting with the organisers or committees of sports clubs/physical activity groups in the city.

The consultation runs until January 17, 2021 and findings will be presented to the council’s Tourism, Equalities, Community and Culture Committee and used to help inform the Sport and Physical Activity Strategy.
