Following the huge success of its first-ever Pride event in 2024, which attracted nearly 2,000 visitors and received widespread media coverage, Loughborough Pride 2025 promises to build on that momentum with a larger, even more inclusive celebration.
This year’s theme, ‘Icons,’ will honour LGBTQ+ individuals and allies who have shaped culture, visibility, and acceptance, all while championing the crucial importance of continued progress and representation in a world where LGBTQ+ rights are increasingly under threat.
The afternoon picnic in Queens Park will offer a safe and inclusive space for the LGBTQ+ community and allies, featuring family-friendly entertainment, face painting, community group activities, and a market showcasing grassroots LGBTQ+ organisations and queer-friendly local businesses.
In line with the Icons theme, the main stage will host local and regional talent, offering performances that reflect the talent and diversity of the LGBTQ+ community. Quiet spaces and accessibility initiatives will be available to support vulnerable groups, including LGBTQ+ teens and trans individuals, ensuring the event is truly welcoming for all.

The afternoon festivities will be followed by evening activities (from 6pm onwards) at participating venues across Loughborough, extending the Pride celebration into the heart of the town. With support pledged from Charnwood Borough Council, Love Loughborough (BID) and Pub Watch, all participating venues will adhere to a strict code of conduct to ensure they are genuinely inclusive spaces for the LGBTQ+ community.
The founder of Loughborough Pride, Jonathan Fraser, reflected on the significance of this year’s event: “After the incredible success of our inaugural Pride in 2024, we’re proud to return with an event that celebrates not just the icons of our community, but the resilience and strength we must continue to show in the face of growing challenges. Loughborough Pride is not just a fun celebration—it’s a stand for visibility, inclusion, and the ongoing fight to protect our rights.”
With a free-to-attend, family-friendly atmosphere, Loughborough Pride 2025 remains committed to fostering inclusivity, accessibility, and diversity. The event will ensure that local LGBTQ+ vendors and performers are given a platform, while also providing resources, support and visibility for vulnerable groups within the community.
Loughborough Pride 2025 is actively seeking partnerships, sponsors, and volunteers to help bring this ambitious event to life. To learn more, register your interest, or find out how you can support the event, visit the Loughborough Pride website or follow them on social media.
