Brighton & Hove Pride hires digital agency to boost UK and European audiences

Graham Robson March 26, 2025

Brighton & Hove Pride, the UK’s biggest LGBTQ+ Pride festival, has appointed a new digital agency to handle its global activity.

Spekk, which has offices in London and Barcelona, will now work closely with Pride to boost attendance at Pride in the Park through a more strategic approach to paid social, while also bringing greater depth to the storytelling around the annual event.

The new engagement will “target both veteran Pride-goers and first-time attendees, reinforcing Brighton & Hove Pride’s inclusive spirit as a celebration open to all who support the cause”.

As well as increasing UK attendance, the strategy will also aim to extend the event’s reach to a wider European audience.

Brighton & Hove Pride is an annual summer festival held in the first week of August, which usually consists of the LGBTQ+ Community Parade through the city centre, a festival event in Preston Park, the Village Party and other club parties. This year’s headliners are Mariah Carey on Saturday, August 2 and Sugababes on Sunday, August 3.

It attracts an estimated 500,000 people to the city over the Pride weekend across the Pride Parade, Pride in the Park festival, and related events.

Paul Kemp, Managing Director of Brighton & Hove Pride, said: “Spekk have an impressive track record of driving significant growth for festivals, not just in the UK but also for major international destination events, which made them really appealing to us. From our very first outstanding strategic depth and creative thinking to the table.”

Erik Lehmann, co-founder of Spekk, added: “As an agency with roots in the festival industry, having the opportunity to partner with the UK’s biggest Pride event is both an honour and a significant milestone for us. We’re incredibly excited to help spread the word and support the mission behind this amazing celebration.”
