Peopleās Pride Southampton, the award-winning Pride charity that operates all year round, is launching a Winter Pop-Up Pride and Outreach Shop in the Marlandās Shopping Centre, Southampton from Monday, November 28.
Usually to be found in Southampton Bargate Market in the city centre every Friday and Saturday from January to October, now as winter approaches they are moving to other venues as the weekly market can currently no longer operate due to the annual Christmas market being in the same location.Ā
The organisers of Party in the Park, Trans Pride Southampton, and various other community events in the city have already been working hard popping up in various locations through their supporters’ Dream Empire Market Company, including but not limited to West Quay, Southampton. They have been offering support, outreach, and some of the best value Pride merchandise about.Ā
But now they are working on bringing the biggest ever Pride shop to Southampton. They have teamed up with This Is Flourish and the Marlandās Shopping Centre, who offer charities space in shopping centres at an affordable price – giving charities and small businesses a chance to test trade or indeed showcase their work.Ā
The Pride Pop-Up shop will also feature regular drop-ins from other charities, host a collection point for the Street Angels rough sleepers support project and much, much more. The shop will also have a wide range of information available from other charities and support organisations who support the LGBTQ+ community.Ā
As if that was not enough, they will also be offering free outreach and support services, and as always if people just want to pop in for a chat and a coffee or tea, they are welcome to do so.Ā
As well as this, over the three-week run Santa will be visiting, courtesy of Blake Entertainments.Ā
On sale in the shop will be a large range of Pride gifts and merchandise including, but not limited to, pins, badges, socks, mugs, LGBTQ+ Christmas cards, large flags and much more.Ā
The Pride Pop-Up Shop opens on the ground floor of Marlandās Shopping Centre in the Flourish store (next to Blue Inc) on Monday, November 28 from 10am. The shop will be open seven days a week and will close on Sunday, December 18.Ā
