Oscar’s Big Walk in the Big Park Peacehaven

Graham Robson May 4, 2017

A fundraising walk and raffle to raise funds to cover the general upkeep, vets bills and eventual operation for a dog called Oscar, who suffers from an incontinence condition, will be starting at the Gateway Café in the Big Park, Peacehaven on Sunday, May 7 from 10.30am.

The event, which hopes to raise £7.000, is organised by one of Oscar’s foster carers, Emma Lee, along with Kate McKay and local author Richard Gough-Buijs. So far, £2.210 has been raised.

Emma Lee fostered Oscar after seeing a post online pleading for someone to give the three-year-old dog a chance after 15 rescue centres had refused to take him in.

Oscar was due to be put to sleep in March but now he spends his days at work with Emma Lee and his evenings at his other foster carer’s flat. Despite “showering the dog in love and affection”, both Emma Lee and his other foster carer are struggling to stem the flow of his leak using puppy pads, nappies and an elasticated waste band.

Emma Lee said: “Every little helps so thank you all for taking the time to read about our beautiful little boy who we would love to give a second chance and new lease of life without nappies!”

A raffle will take place on the day and tickets can be purchased for £1 each through Emma Lee’s PayPal account. If donating, reference payments as “TBPDW” (your name)” so Emma Lee can keep track of payments and who has made them.

Once paid, email Emma Lee directly for your raffle numbers at: emmaleebdc@gmail.com.

All prizes must be collected or arranged for Emma Lee to deliver (locally for an extra small donation to Oscar).
