National competition for small shops

Simon Kirby MP for Brighton Kemptown & Peacehaven is enouraging local small shops in his constituencey to enter a national competition for small shops.

ANY SMALL shop can submit an application to the All Party Parliamentary Small Shop Groupā€™s ā€˜Best Small Shops Competitionā€™.

To enter, set out in no more than 500 words why you are the best small shop highlighting; innovation in your business, community engagement and entrepreneurial activity.

All shortlisted candidates will be invited to a Parliamentary Reception where the winner will be announced on the February 25, 2014.

Simon said: ā€œWe are fortunate here in Brighton Kemptown and Peacehaven to have many wonderful small shops and this is a great opportunity for these shops in our area to get recognition for the brilliant work they do supporting the community and creating jobs.

“I would be delighted to see a shop from Brighton or Peacehaven recognised by being selected for this competition, and I would encourage as many as possible to get involved and enter.ā€
