Govia Thameslink launches UK’s first ‘Line Resident’ programme

The UK’s largest rail franchise, Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) announce the country’s first Line Residents project – a creative partnership with six influencers, tastemakers and content creators highlighting the people, connections and must-visit destinations along the rail routes.

Chris Sweeney – LGBT+ Writer, director and host of Homo Sapiens podcast

Govia run Southern, Thameslink, Great Northern and Gatwick Express services. As Great Northern and Southern Rail improve their network with new routes, more capacity and greater frequency – the Line Residents will aim to inspire passenger journeys with exclusive content released every month.

Celebrating the transformative power of journeys, The Line Residents are a group of influential individuals who have explored routes across Great Northern and Southern to discover and share compelling stories of transformation.

They’ll share content every month, from podcasts to videos to articles, and will reveal tales of individual and community challenges and triumphs, as well as providing inspiration for customers to embark on their own journeys. Content will range from the stories of inspirational leaders changing their communities, how to turn your commute into a productivity power hour, elevated picnic lunches, and much more.

Founded by content creators in Parenting, Music, Technology, LGBT+, Fitness, and Food, the inaugural 2019 Line Residents include:

♦   Jamie Day – Parenting – Blogger and Influencer

♦   Ortis Deley – Technology – Presenter of the Gadget Show

♦   Remel London – Music – Presenter for CapitalXTRA

♦   Lunges and Lycra – Fitness – Bloggers and Influencers

♦   Stevie Parle – Food – Chef, Restaurateur and Food Writer

♦   Chris Sweeney – LGBT+ – Writer, director and host of Homo Sapiens podcast

Myriam Walburger, GTR’s Acting Communications and Marketing Director said; “From fitness and food to music and technology, our new Line Residents have produced a series of videos, podcasts and blogs. We hope our creative partners enhance the journeys of passengers on Southern and Great Northern, whether it’s on a daily commute or for leisure travel.”
