Trans drag queen Miss Peaches hits back at anti-drag protestors after they accuse her of wearing “stripper’s heels” during a children’s storytime session

Trans drag queen, Miss Peaches, has hit back after anti-drag protestors accused her of wearing “stripper’s heels” during a children’s storytime session in Dundee.

Miss Peaches, a trans woman performer, was hired for the storytime session in Dundee, which promised to whisk children away on “magical adventures”.

Protesters, who turned up outside the event at Fintry Library, brandished placards, with one reading “Leave the Kids Alone”. They accused the performer of turning up in “stripper shoes” for the event. However, Miss Peaches fired back, saying in a statement: “I wasn’t dressed inappropriately, nor did I have ‘stripper’ shoes on. I had clear heels on that were 4” tall and an A-symmetrical dress.”

One protester said: “The wee ones from the nursery were led in.

“Then Miss Peaches strutted in behind them on his stripper’s shoes. The optics were terrible. Why can’t they just leave kids alone?”

Miss Peaches responded to critics and claimed they were just doing a job they had been “hired to do”.

In a statement on social media, she said: “I’ve had nothing but positive feedback from the adults who attend my story times and other events with their children.

“I wasn’t dressed inappropriately nor did I have ‘stripper’ shoes on. I had clear heels on that were 4” tall and an A-symmetrical dress.

“If you find the way I looked to be sexual then that says more about you. Also, I’m a woman. It’s she/her.”
