Allsorts Youth Project, the Brighton-based LGBTQ+ youth charity, has thanked supporters for their generosity after £520 was raised from its 12 Days of Allsorts festive campaign. All money raised will go towards continuing to support LBTQ+ young people and their parents/carers across Sussex.
Allsorts said in a statement: “It was our first time running a festive fundraiser and seeing so much engagement with it is uplifting.
“Not only were we able to raise such an amazing amount of money, we also received some incredible messages of support to share with young people. In our increasingly hostile political environment, being able to show young LGBTQ+ people that they are supported, accepted and celebrated for who they are has perhaps never been so important.
“By contributing to this campaign, you were part of making that happen and your support has gone such a long way. Some messages included:
”You are wonderful and cared about, ignore anyone who tells you differently”
”You have people from all over the globe supporting you and cheering you on”
”Be yourself”
“We are so grateful for all of your amazing support!”
On Saturday, April 5, Allsorts Youth Project is taking part in the Brighton Miles – a mile long run/walk/roll or move however is accessible to you around Preston Park as part of the Brighton Marathon weekend.
Allsorts said: “The day will be a chance to celebrate the incredible community we have here as well as fundraise to continue our mission to empower young people. Make sure you are subscribed to our mailing list for updates on how you can support us or take part.”
