Queens Arms Brighton is celebrating 40 years as a cabaret venue this week with five nights of events featuring over 30 artists, with every night raising funds for local HIV charity, the Sussex Beacon.
The Queens Arms will be celebrating in style with the cream of the cabaret scene taking to the Queens Arms stage:
LALLIES BY THE PIER on Wednesday, January 22 and Thursday, January 23 at 7.30pm.
A full-length show created by Marsha Mellow, this cinematic revue collates performances from the best of British drag past. Be transformed to the smoke-filled bars of the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s and reminisce with recordings of the crème de la crème of the cabaret world such as Regina Fong, The Trollettes and Lily Savage.
After a small break Kara Van Park will be dusting off her heels for weekly residency West End Wednesdays from 10pm. On Thursday, January 23, Lallies by the Pier will be followed by Portia De Fosse giving a mix of musical, madness and disco.
Friday, January 24 and Saturday, January 25 are 40th BIRTHDAY PARTIES with Ruffles hosting a full show from Sam Solace on Friday and Lola Lasagne hosting a full show from Dr Bev and Drag With No Name on the Saturday.
Expect a plethora of top cabaret guests raising funds for the Sussex Beacon over two nights, including Alex Fincher, Alfie Ordinary, Amy Laqueefa, Darcy Nox, Glenda & Rita, Marsha Mellow, Mary O Kart, Lovina Belle, Portia, Sam Solace, Allan Jay, Billie Gold, Chery Liquor, Cosmic, Davina Sparkle, Dr Bev, Drag With No Name, Ember, Gabriella Parish, Kara Van Park, Rose Garden, Tanya Hyde and Sam Solace.
Sunday, January 26 is 3 DIVAS with Marsha Mellow, Lola Lasagne and David Dale at 6.30pm. Expect three one-hour shows crossing four decades of drag, interspersed with footage of past acts.
